Telfree is able to cater for business telephony environments that are using traditional analogue phones and/or analogue PABX equipment. Traditional analogue equipment delivers voice in analogue format and in order for the voice to be transmitted over Telfree’s network it must digitized. This is made possible by inserting a Quintum VoIP Gateway between your existing telephony equipment and your internet data line, which then connects you to Telfree, as illustrated in the image above.
In this scenario, you are able to keep your existing telephony equipment and handsets and avoid replacing your PABX and/or handsets at each staff members’ desk. No change is experienced in the operation of the telephony system ensuring a smooth transition. The VoIP Gateway also provides a backup mechanism, where if your internet connection fails for any reason, calls will be diverted over your fixed-line service provider until the internet service is restored.

Some of the minimum basic requirements to use Telfree’s services in this scenario are:
- Quality internet broadband connection: this should be a dedicated internet data line so there is no interference from other internet traffic
- Quintum VoIP Gateway: this highly reliable gateway digitizes voice so it can be transmitted over Telfree’s network
- PABX configuration: the PABX will need to allow calls to and from the VoIP Gateway
- Subscribe to one of Telfree’s business packages
